In some moments of pure stupidity, I came up with a jingle for a pizza commercial that is destined to be one of those jingles that you hear so much you come to hate it.
My family is strongly encouraging me to reach out to an ad agency. Not sure where to start and am looking for some direction so I don't spend a fortune chasing my tail or get burnt by an agency.

Very, very tough. All pizza franchises have ad agencies, and they don't tend to listen to outsiders in the creative phase (just in the testing phase).
If you want to really get this out there, you can approach local pizzarias wwith the idea that they do a radio jingle, and use your jingle. You also might approach local radio stations, who are always trying to get new advertising business. Ask to speak to someone in sales, then tell the sales rep that you made up a jingle and want to sell it (or give it away) to a pizza joint. Propose that you work together; the sales rep plays the jingle for the potential customer and tries to close the sale.
Be clear up front if you are in this for the satisfaction of having your jingle heard or if you want some money out of it. You would have to work with the ad sales rep and/or the pizzaria to figure that out. |

One proviso: The minute you share it with someone, it becomes stealable. Creative entities are always looking, hawklike, for more fodder for their machine. Proceed with extreme caution. They can change it 25%, and then claim the idea as theirs.

I would probably approach a locally owned pizza joint with your idea and see if they would be interested. It would be nearly impossible to get Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns, etc type places to pick up your ad. |

Well contacting an agency is probably the only thing you can do, as most buisnesses and franchises usually contact advertising agencies to make adds and not the other way around. It'll be tuff, good luck |
