The internet has really just become another form of paid advertising, if you want your site to come up on any of the big 3 sites, you will have to pay for it.
Cost is determined by 2 factors, Key words and Click throughs.
Key words are words relating to your site, so when the searcher types in any of the key words, your site pops up in the results. so if you have a flower shop, your key words would be rose, flower, lillies, etc. the more you pay the more key words you can have, and the more likely your result will come up in the top results.
Click throughs are another way internet services are charged. You pay each time a searcher clicks on your result and goes to your web site.
Its not as expensive as you may think, you should call the search engines and enquire about pricing. It is very accessible and can be done with online pre-payments from your credit card. |

If you want organic visitors (ie., people who are looking for the stuff your website contains and cost nothing to get) then just make sure your site has lots of content thats relevant to your sites subject.
You can pay for listings but its very expensive. |

Most of the time, you have to pay search engines for your link to come up at all. Some offer 'sponsors' if you pay the extra money. If you have a special themed website, you can hook up with affiliates who either add your link for free or for a cost. There are places where your link is put up for free, but these sites receive less attention. |

From what I understand about web searches is that they are ranked based on the links youhave to and from other websites.
So either you have to get more links to your site or you would have to pay the search engine to get a "sponsored" listing which would come up first. |

Either pay for it (Google ads etc) or organic. Latter means having a good website with meta tags so that search engines can find it and identifty it, your web designer can help there and also keep track of where people find you and how and do more of that. If its a brand new website - may take a few months to really get established and then paid-for is only immediate route. |

There are so many factors involved such as what your website is about,what content you have,what keywords are you targeting etc .There are so many ways to optimize a website but that still may not be enough to rank well. While links are important so is content.Can you post the URL of the website so I can better answer your question. |

Think about what YOU would put in a search engine to find a company in your industry and base the keywords on your site around them. There's a keyword tool in yahoo's advertsing programme somewhere that will suggest suitable things, google adwords has one too.
Pay per click adverts are good if used right, and it's not always as expensive as you think. Invest in something to help you track visitors to your site if possible, (ie; what terms they use, what pages they view, how long they spend on your site etc etc). Your hosting company might be able to help with this.
Ideally you should pay someone to do this optimisation lark if poss, but do check that what they do is actually having the desired effect. Make sure that they appear in the top listings for search terms for their industry, because that's the best barometer of whether they're any good! Good luck! |

yahoo do a service where you can pay an amount and you have do do most of it your self or for a little more money you can get some assistance and it maybe possible to get yourself a higher
ranking..i know one of the ways is called pay per click....maybe dont invest into one particular type of marketing..try 3 or more ways and see what one works the best for you |

Here are 2 ways to get your Website ranked high - and they do not cost you anything:
1) Put really good content on your Website. Select some keywords that are in demand and write Website pages around these keywords or phrases. Refresh the content from time to time.
2) Write some splendid articles around those in-demand keywords or phrases. Submit them to article directories and ezines.
