I seriously doubt your claim that a site with 0 backlinks got a PR 5, even though it is 2 years old. Page rank is a factor of links, and without links you can't even get to PR 1.

You're kidding, right? Page Rank is intimately associated with back links - no if's, and's or but's. If your site has a PR of 5, then Google has determined that you are a "trusted site" and this designation is almost solely based upon the number of people who have been willing to proclaim your worth to the world by adding a link back to you from their own sites. And numbers alone are not the determining factor of PR. Google places value on a back link as it sees fit and very often one link from a "valued" source can be worth 100 links from elsewhere. In other words, you might have 20 links from university (.edu) or government (.gov) sites that account for your PR of 5, while other sites might have 300 links from unrelated, generic directories and have no PR at all from Google. But if you are claiming a PR of 5 with NO back links whatsoever, then I really want to know what you had for breakfast this morning. Perhaps you would be so kind as to provide the URL of your website? |
