You can do some SEO by getting your RSS feed into some RSS directories that will basically have your content as a part of that site. With the keywords you want to optimize for, use the keyword phrase in your blog post as appropriate and use that key phrase to link back to your site.
You'll then have a lot of back links to your blog for SEO. This is a longer term strategy along with things like article writing, etc.
If you have good content and have written a post on a specific topic, visit blogs in a similar industry or related industry and post comments on a blog that is related to yours. Don't blatently link to your site necessarily but the comment system usually has a place for a URL as well which you can point back to your site. Assuming your content is good and on topic, you'll get residual visitors to your blog from a related blog.
You should also be social bookmarking your sites and articles and building up a community of friends with these sites such as digg.com, del.icio.us, stumbleupon.com etc. where other people will help your site out as well. Kind of the "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" idea.
Good luck. there is a ton more info out there, specifically look for podcasts on itunes that have people on SEO and social media optimization. Most I've listened to are pretty good, some suck, but you'll be able to tell after a couple of episodes if the person actually knows what they're talking about.
