You can try a free traffic Exchange service like TrafficSwarm at http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?56268...
or WebCentreSurf at http://webcentresurf.com/?27972
I get at least 150 hits from each of these free traffic exchanges every day. But you have to be prepared to click for the credits.
You can try article marketing at an article submission service like http://www.ezinearticles.com and link back to your website in the resource box for your articles. This will get you a couple of hits a day for every article you publish depending on the popularity of the subject.
You can also comment on popular blogs like John Chow's or Joel Comm's that allow linkbacks to your URL. Do a Yahoo Search. Commenting on blogs can be good for a hit or two but make sure your comment is relevant and interesting. If you decide to do this for the traffic then be prepared to do it a lot and consistently every day.
Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the screen. I haven't had any practice with this one.
