First thing you need to do is exactly what you are doing right now, get the name of your site on as many authority sites as possible. Go to social sites, forum and blogging communities.
A real simple trick to get indexed by search engines is to create as many back links as possible. Do a Google search for forums that may have active discussions on your field of expertise and make relevant comments to the existing threads. When you leave a comment, don't forget to leave a link in your signature that points people to your website.
Please be sure to give quality feedback when jumping into an active discussion. I'm sure you wouldn't be to happy if you and a bunch of friends were talking about the latest political news and someone kept interrupting the flow of conversation with their stories of basket weaving at summer camp as a kid.
Next you want to set up a Google alert in a gmail account and watch for alerts being sent to your email account. Click the links and add your content. A Google alert is a great way to see where the spider bots like to go.
These are just a few strategies I use to generate traffic to my websites.

The wonder of this program is that you can limit your budget on how many traffic you're willing to pay for. I'll say you should try it, and see the result. It's easy and relatively more cost-effective.
You can also try search engine optimization techniques, or hire someone knowledgeable to do that for you. It can place your website higher in the search engine results when people Googled, let's say, "branding techniques" or "brand FAQ".
If you're short on cash, try these:
Submission to directories is always a good idea, but do not over-submit.
Identify other related websites that share common interest with yours, such as branding consultants, marketing institutions and other academic-based websites. Write an e-mail to them requesting a reciprocal link on their site- in exchange for theirs in your website. It always work.
Establish your presence in other forums and promote your website there. It might be as simple as putting your URL in your signature.
Remember- in order to create a community, you have to attract communities. Best of luck. |
