I like it, in addition to the above comments, perhaps choose a different font to what i think is arial? Something with a bit of individuality maybe. I like the fact that the information all sits central to the page and the design is cute. |

if you put "http://" before you write the site adress, in the dialog box of YA answers, it automatically makes it a link, like this: http://www.castlepr.com
hope this helps. people are lazy, and rarely cut & paste, just to find out more. make a clickable link and they will.
ok to the critics...
the brown background, bleeds into the brown site background. (visually). your site is a fixed 800x600 screen res, centred in the various size browser windows. The colour of the browswer window background, and the actual site is the same. big mistake (in this instance). Too much brown! only black usually works doing this (or the standard white).
Depending on the nature of your site, and the security of the adress you give (not your home one!) a web address needs a physical one, to give confidence. The site has no proper contact details. if you have a shop, fine, as its not your home address, but anything above a blog (ie, commerce) needs some sort of physical adress, even if its a p.o box (£60/year) or a virtual office (from £20/month) to give confidence.
Thats the first two "biggies" i can see. hope this helps. It should be easy, in the template menu, to change the background colour.
actually...if you like the brown, you could try and loose the border (the white frame) and the white button bar, then the site would bleed into its background nicely, just leaving the text "centred" and standing out. (you would have to change the button bar's 'background' colour to the same brown. if left white it would stand out, as a "800x600" template.)
i see on the site, "in8" gets a credit. Ive just checked in8.co.uk....i hope you didnt pay those prices? |

It looks really great apart from the fact that my eyes sort of skipped about a bit looking for the place where they were meant to go to if you know what I mean...I think it is because the lettering is very small...it felt like the fisrt line of the main text should have been signifigantly bigger...but I love the colours and graphics. http://www.castlepr.com
THANKS BEN B....just tried the link thing here and it worked!!! |

You would normally ask for views, criticism etc. when you have something to present. So far there is nothing here, just the template. It could be black text on white, all in Latin. If you are happy with the layout and colours then get on with adding some content and then ask for an appraisels.
If you did the design and coding yourself, then well done! Keep it up.

Your website needs the placement of a proper <title>.
Currently you have a blank <title> metatag which should be filled in with the phrase "Free-lance Public Relations/PR - Yorkshire, GB, UK" in order to localize your particular service. Again, you are reminded that Net surfers often query generic keywords along with a geographic locale in order to limit search results to where they live.
Good luck! |

I typed www.etc and found your site it looks good but some of the listing on the left just gave me things in a foreign language or was it just me? |

I like it I'm not too sure what's your company about since I didnt see a detail discription but your site looks friendly. I like the earthy colors. The only thing I notice is that the font is too small. It would be nice to highlight some stuff vs. everything in one size |

I flicked through your site and find the colour awful!!! Not very dynamic and inspirational. Sorry but I thought you would appreciate an honest opinion! |

I like it.
Some websites are irritatingly faffy and showy, but this isn't, it's more attractive and reassuring. At the same time, it isn't boring; the friendly (but not childish) typeface and the chatty approach sees to that. Also, it's informative without being overwhelming, aggressive or intimidating.
The only thing I don't really like is the home page; for some reason I kind of couldn't be bothered to read it when I looked at it. I think the home page needs something more to pull you in, perhaps an image or a simple animation. Just a simple photo of you (or your team if you have one) would suffice.
Anyway, yup, on the whole it's good.
Oh yes, the colour is lovely too. |

Trying to be objective:
The font is too small and makes reading tedious.
The Latin text (which I have seen elsewhere many times) fails to impress and is a mistake.
I also consider it a mistake to launch a site until it is ready for public eyes - site under construction is a negative approach in my view.
Having got the negative bits out of the way - Your site is well laid out, clear and concise. If you get rid of the first person singular this will also help. Portray your company as one of many parts - not just you. Do not mislead on this point, just don't emphasize the fact that at the moment you are a one-man-band.
Hope this helps. Wishing you every success. |

nice site but i think you need to change the background color into something not heavy to the eyes.
would you like to earn passive income form your site? you may check out this opportunity. this is similar to adsense except that instead of your customers clicking on the ad links, they will hear Audio Ads instead while waiting for your page to load. it's more convenient and easy moneymaking program for you. check it out. |

as above the text is very small, im using firefox internet explorer. try viewing your web pages on different explorers, they can look completly different. and some times it can look good on one type and may not work at all on another.
EDIT
does your site use css ( style sheets)
themes etc?
if so go into your cpanel ( control panel)
click your home directory
click public_html
click themes ( if you are using a template etc)
click on the theme you have installed
then click the style.css document
if you are not using themes the searc for the style.css document, view it first to identify where the font sizes are located the click edit, change it the save , you will have to do a bit of playing about to achieve the best result.
Note: do a back up first incase it all goes wrong!!
good luck hun |
