you could set up a paypal account using a checking account instead. ebay still might require a credit card though, not 100% sure.

You only need a checking or savings account # to activate a paypal account.I really dont think you need an actual credit card..but then again,..they may of changed things.Best of luck.

They do that to make sure you are an adult. The credit card is also needed so that if people are just messing around to raise the prices, they are required to buy things they win the bids on. No credit card -- no bidding!
If you have a Check Card linked to your checking account, that will also work. You will also most likely have to get a PayPal account for easier paying, which can be linked directly to a checking account.

You have to have one - perhaps a bank debit card would work if you don't have a credit card?
The credit card helps to ensure a legit account holder.
Also, if it comes down to it - have a friend with an account sell or buy your items for you. There are a few companies out there that will sell your products for you too.
