T the D | I need help with marketing ideas!? |
My boss just came to me and asked me to come up with some marketing ideas for our company. I agreed, but I don't really have any marketing experience! We're a small company, I'm sort of the go-to girl for all the misc. stuff. I want to make a good impression and come up with some ideas...but I need help!
We're a company that installs and services phone systems. I've already got sort of a "Year-End Maintenance" thing cooked up, where we can come out and clean phones, re-label equipment, replace phone cords, etc.
Do you guys have any other good ideas? Anything would be helpful. Ideas, advice, websites.

Your best starting point is to contact your existing customers. Your Year-End Maintenance service is a good reason to contaact them. Why not include it with a Christmas card that says thank you for being great clients?
Think, too, about your existing customers and the solutions that you've provided for them - not the products. For example, if you've set up a system that solved the problem of keeping branches of an organisation in touch with each other, put this in your marketing to similar organisations.

Some other possible ideas (I'm brainstorming) -
Offer your current clients some kind of "bonus" nor discount for referrals (build up word of mouth business).
Quarterly Newsletter for customers.
Free Seminars that might be of interest to potential customers - I don't know the phone equipment business but something like: How a professional phone system can help you increase customer satisfaction.
I'm sure your company already has a website, right?
Provide some phone related marketing goodies such as post-it notes with your companies info on it... rolodex cards... or whatever else you can think of that people use in association with phones.

Does your equipment allow faster, cheaper, easier access. Does it use VOIP to reduce long distance costs? Is it expandable?
Look at the benefits for the customer and focus on that. Offer the year-end maintenance program free as a way to evaluate the potential client's phone system.

How about an open house for the maintenance and tech people of businesses that deals with phone system maintenance and how to improve the functioning and longevity of the equippment - and dont forget to mention the best way- with a maintenance contract from your company. |

fill a small bag with some dirt, lint, crumbs, etc - a bunch of disgusting stuff - with a note that says this is the kind of thing lurking in/on your phones, include contact info for your company and an introductory offer - this will really attract their attention... |
