It may not be the quickest method (maybe) but word of mouth is going to have a huge impact on your new business. I've considered starting my own business and what I'd have to do to start up. I would start small and work up from there. If you supply great service and as equally good a product your customers are going to share the experience with friends they know who will be in need of the same thing.

It really depends on who your customers are.
This likely should come from your business plan...
You need to start asking yourself who these people are, what do the read, watch listen to, what do they do.
Your website is the first thing. If you construct it search freindly, people who are looking for your type of product or service in your area will find you.
Once you understand your customer, or who they might be you can start buying media that reflects this. |

You may start with a website as mentioned earlier. However, you should have a good business card, containing all vital information such as what you are doing, contact details, including your web address and a logo. Try to be creative, maybe even outsource the design of your business card since it is really vital that it looks professional. If you don't have the finacial resources, get a crash course in "Adobe InDesign CS2", it is a great software to create all sorts of advertisments.
Also, make sure that your website, business card, pamphle, brochures etc. are all inline with each other, be consistent with your designs!
