The best approach is to participate in a large tradeshow where you get the exhibitor list. Not only will you get the list but you will have the opportunity to visit with all these potential clients. You won't get the list unless you participate and pay an exhibitor fee. Remember it takes money to make money. That is very true! |

Things are not fair on the Internet.

I'm not sure by what you mean when you say "unconventional," since that can be both advantageous or completely off-the-wall.
I think you should start in markets where your services make the most sense. And I think you best approach is a telesales campaign where you call, identify who the decision makers in marketing are, and see if they bite on your message.
You probably want to start, as one other responder said, by looking at an event and seeing who the exhibitors and sponsors are. You might also consider walking the show floor at some event and dropping your card (or unconventional promotion) off to them personally.
There is no free paycheck here. |
