Real Estate....buy a fixer property (homes or apartments, etc)or two, ones that are in foreclosure or per-foreclosure, drug properties and the like. The worst piece of property in the nicest neighborhood. If done right and with a little luck, a person can turn a pretty good profit in a short amount of time. It's the best investment with the smallest risk factor, compared with long term investments like ira's and stocks. A year for a million bucks may be a bit unrealistic and it won't be easy, but it can be done, it's how I make my living.
