I would like to raise a quality complaint to my boss, help me out?

I hope this may be of help.

It is the format I use to do a case analysis for new project development

1. Problem Statement
1-2 sentences that appropriately, succinctly and accurately describe the problem that firm is facing. You MUST be able to deal with this problem within the rest of the case write-up, so make it detailed and workable.

2. Analysis
Explains WHAT causes this problem and WHY. This part of the write-up is NOT a synopsis of case factsâ€¦ Do NOT re-state case information without telling me WHY this is relevant, and WHAT the root causes of the problem are. This is the part of the write-up where students miss the most points because they simply re-state case facts.

3. Solution Statement
1-2 sentences outlining the plan for change, addressing specifically the Problem Statement and WHY your plan for a solution would work. The link between your Problem Statement and your recommended Solution Statement must be CLEAR.

4. Implementation
Gives specifics that flesh out your Solution Statement. This is the HOW section of the write-up and it should specifically address the logistics and concrete details of making your solution work.

5. Prognosis
This tells me the likelihood of success for realizing your solution. Usually stated as High, Moderate, Low, or Poor, and WHY you believe this to be true. This section also details what resources the firm needs to succeed, and the likely pitfalls it faces in implementing your Solution Statement and plans to realize it. I have an example of a Prognosis Statement at the end of this handout.

Here are a few addition tips for you to keep in mind also

1. Limit your analysis to key or critical issues. Make them do-able.
2. Focus on problems where management CAN make a difference. Try not to focus on those things that the firm's management simply cannot control. You may include uncontrollable environmental issues if they are relevant (ex: legislation that critically affects the business) but your solutions should be based on things management can do.
3. Keep in mind the entire system in which you are analyzing the firmâ€¦ no firm is an island.

First of all, don't think of it as a "complaint" -- you should express a "concern" or a "suggestion" but don't complain.

Pick the right time... maybe when you are alone with your supervisor and have his/her attention. then I would say something like:

"I have a concern about the fact that this product tends to break when XXX. Do you know if the manufacturing department has considered improving the XXX part?"

If it is something that is harmful to the customer, be sure that your supervisor takes your concern seriously. If he/she doesn't then be sure to go to the next person up the ladder.

If it's just a matter of the item being crap, then you have less responsibility to take it any further. Most stuff that companies sell is crap unfortunately.

Are you familiar with Gerald Ratner. He's the famous Barclay CEO who said, "We also do cut-glass sherry decanters complete with six glasses on a silver-plated tray that your butler can serve you drinks on, all for Â£4.95. People say, "How can you sell this for such a low price?" I say, because it's total crap."

raise the issue!!!! you work for your boss , what's he going to do , say no?

If you boss's position includes a concern for quality, you should express your concerns with data. Reporting such things as field failure rate, and statistical process control data will make your case. Do not present subjective findings.

Ask to speak to him. Then explain what issue is and why you feel that it is issue and ask he look into. Explain how could be resolved, made better, etc. (only if you know) otherwise, thank him for time and be on way

depends ......... i would just resign......... cos if hes your boss he will find a way of getting rid of you if you complain, even with just cause......believe me....my teeshirt 's in the wash ready for the next time.......................................
