you will not lose your rank if you move to another host, given you do it right.
To do it right, you need to avoid any down time. I suggest comparing the specs of this new cheaper hosting provider. how do they match up with your current host.
if you still want to switch, then you will need to overlap hosting. What i mean, is you will need a month of your old host and a month of the new host. Take all of the files from the old host and copy them to the new host. Use a free temp domain (also called a stop gap domain) to test the files are working correctly on the new server.
once all the files are moved over correctly and you have tested everything, now you can change the nameserver addresses for your domain.
since all the files are on both hosts, you will experience no downtime as the domain servers propagate the nameserver change.
speaking of downtime, make sure this valuehost has very little downtime. search engines penalizes for your site going down. |

Just make sure to keep your keywords, site title, etc...they same and you should not have any problem. Get all the files loaded on the new server and then change the DNS settings on your domain name.
I moved my account that was built using their site builder software to a new host in which I built my own site from scratch. I kept the key words, text, site title all the same and had no problems. |

People may tell you that if you change your host, you would not loose search engine rankings but it is incorrect. Practical experience tells us whenever you change hosts you loose search engine rankings for reasons best known to the search engines. I would recommend you not to change your host as saving a few dollars could cause you loose much more. Give it a thought- is it worth it? |
