There is one thing I know for sure about agencies and it came out of Tyra Banks mouth on her show. If a modeling agency ever asks you for money, they are a scam. Any legit agency will never charge you for pictures, or any other cost. I am sure in this day and age that a legit agency would have a website. |

I don't know about that specific modeling agency, but usually they are actually legit if they have a website. But, some modeling agencies have a website, and actually don't do anything. (hollywoodauditions.com does nothing and is a waste of $400. i know from experience) do some research or visit the modeling agency and check out if it's for real before you go and spend a ton of money in it. |

I think with johns casablancas you have to pay those are training ones you dont want those either!
You need to purchase pictures and then most of them have web sites and will take pictures over the net yes some of the good ones charge a processing fee of 25 bucks?
to go over pictures but its not like some of the others who want hundreds..most of them should have business license also.So,i would check to see if they have that with county?

Look to see whom they are affiliated, such as SAG or AFTRA, that is a good sign. Not all agencies use web sites, which is not necessarily a bad thing, many are small, but book the hell out of shows, get thier models into films, trade shows, print ads. Word of mouth is more what I look for, rather than a fancy website, which can be a cover for a shell company and nothing that is legit at all.
I would stick with the agencies whom you know do alot of booking in NYC, LA, Chicago, even Kansas City, dont' count them out. Also, get your name on the actors web site, that is used for checking out cattle calls for films, ect. That is a great way to get your face seen, heard, and connect with other agencies. many times people are looking for models to audition, ect. Great way to be in with the big companies, and directors. |
