If employer asks "Do u think the customer is always right?" do I say yes or no?
You don't have to think the customer is always right, not at all. But you do need to pretty much "act" like you think they are. If they are wrong, things have a way of working themselves out later.

you say
"yes unless she/he is mistaken"

The customer may not always be "right" to you... but they are the customer, and in the customer service department, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
Sometimes you just have to bite your tongue until they leave lol
Good luck with the job!

you should give impression to the customer, that you think he / she is always right.. but in actual you must follow company's policies.
If there is conflict between company policy and customer's wishes then will the boss amend the policy ?

It's my job to make the customer right. I have to make the custumer feel right. If there ever is a customer who is not right, then I'll ask the manager to come help. I can't give the store away to a dishonest con-man, but unless you tell me otherwise I have to believe it's up to the manager to decide a customer is not being fair. So, to me the customer is never wrong: they are always either right or needing to talk to the manager. If I need to get the manager, I'll tell the customer politely that I'll get the manager to help solve their problem.
