It depends on the type of account that you have the money in. Checking probably nothing. Same as the box in the ground! Savings I've heard 3% or so. Money market a tiny bit higher. With that kind of cash call a financial advisor/planner. Depending on your age and your goals they can give you suggestions and in the end you will still make the decisions as to what kind of growth you want from your money. I have a friend who is happy if they get 12-15% return on their investment. They do it with stocks. This week that may be an ugly word but, he has done quite well over the long run. That's about $240,000 in interest a year to live on. There are a few people I know that would be able to live comfortably on that kind of income but, you need to decide where your comfort levels are. the easiest way to do percentages is to take your number then multiply it by what precentage you are questioning
2,000,000*.05 (5%) = 100,000
2,000,000*.09 (9%) = 180,000 |
