Not knowing your age or your neighborhood I would suggest you be very careful with your decision to sell door to door. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of really weird people that do really bad things. I might be safer to set up a stand in front of your house - but even that has it's drawbacks. Some weirdo could jump out of their car and grab you.
What you will earn from door to door sales or setting up a stand is probably not worth the risk. A couple of neighborhood kids set up a lemonade stand and worked it on a Saturday & Sunday and only sold $7.00 worth of lemonaide.
Unless you are 18 or older, I suggest you talk with your parents first to see what they think. |

you'd need to have a license to sell anything, and you'd need to charge taxes, and then pay the taxes. If you are looking for an actual business it takes a lot more than just desire.
If your question is more elaborate than this you can contact me for more info. |

My name is Elba and I am writing you this from my home.
The reason for this answer is that you and I share something in common...
At some point in our lives many of us have contemplated or tried to start a home business.
Don't worry. I'm not trying to sell you anything.
I just want to ask you a simple question?
"If I helped you start a part-time business from your home and in two years you retired...
Would you send me a Thank You card?"
If your answer is "Yes" then please click on the link below and take a look at my business plan.

You obviously want to pull a profit, so it depends. I would sell fans or products that keep you cool in the summer. Or start your own house name business...just thought of this now.
Get a few diferent types of stencils and make examples of how you can paint their family name on the house of driveway. or cement steps leading to the house.
Another quick idea I had a while ago is to print and make up your own Alarm signs that look real, and then go around and ask people if they have an alarm system. If they say no, you tell them well would you like the effect of one for $10, and yousell them the sign on a stick and just jab it in their grass for $10. Make the signs really well and people willbe impelled to buy one.
And if they say yes I do have an alarm system, then say "oh, cause no one can tell from the outside, and you surely wouldn't want someone to to find out by coming in, so for $10 we can take care of that." |

You will need a license. You could deliver newspapers without a license. |

In reality, only YOU can answer that question. Here's a hint though:
Look around your neighborhood...find a common need and fill it. It's really that simple.
Example: Services are always popular. If you see a lot of people with dogs in there yards, you could offer to "clean up" after the dogs. Nobody wants to step in that stuff, but they like letting there dog outside to go #2 without having to walk them in bad weather or the dark. You could even call it: Rover's Land Mine Removal Service" or "SuperScoopers Dog Servcice"
Set people up on the schedule of a weekly or bi-weekly visit, depending on their needs and budget. You could even have them sign a contract for 6 months worth of service.
Basically, performing a service that most people do NOT want to do is always a winner.
Let me know if there is anything I further I can help you with.
Good Luck! |
