If someone else me knew my bank account no. can he draw money?
Is it not correct to let others know my bank account no.?
Everytime you write a check, you are handing away your bank account number. Also your identity - name, phone number, address, driver's license. And info on a 2nd ID, if requested where you wrote the check.
We live in a non-private world - no one has complete privacy on their identity so don't become over sensitive on stuff you can't control.
The banking industry has security controls, always have, on protecting your money. A signature is required on the account to insure only the person who owns the account can access it's money.
Protect your identity by shredding mail with your name/address; not giving out personal info to unsolictied phone callers; checking your credit card statement every month; keeping all receipts; monitoring your credit report at least once a year; maintaining good business relationships with your creditors.

yes, but hopefully you bank at a good bank, and they call you if someone tries to take the money ouut of ur account. Don't ever give ur account # to anyone. and Don't leave ur # or checkbook just laying around, for them to get your acc #........bank statements, ect....be careful with all ur important info that has #'s on it..especially ur SS#.....hope it didn't happen to you....be careful.
