Your argument makes sense -- even if you consider that owned is past tense.
I never did like that phrase, 'pre-owned'. It is a BS term for marketing.
Thanks for pointing this out... the next time I buy a car (perhaps later this year) I will *definitely* make sure the salesman gets an 'ear-full' if he uses that term.

no it just means 'previously' owned. read what you wrote, the prefix 'pre' applies to one of three scenarios. doesn't mean you can pick your own. |
