I am a model and it depends on if you have an exclusive (exclusively signed to one agency) or non-exclusive contract (allows you to sign with other agencies) . Now even with an exclusive contract you can get permission to model with other companies depending on the agency. But to answer your question your contract has nothing to do with the jobs you get. However, if she has more than one contract. One may have gotten her the Max Factor job while another may have gotten her Elizabeth Arden. FYI many models sign with multiple agencies to get more work . |

It would be normal practise to have a clause in a contract preventing a model promoting a competitive product, but it would depend on the power of the model if they were to refuse to accept that.
Such clauses appear in most industries, not only in employment contracts but also in business sales contracts. They are extremely hard to enforce because they often fall foul of legislation preventing restriction of trade.
It would be necessary to show that the breach resulted in actual financial loss which is extremely hard to prove. |
