Depends on who you want to work for.
If you want to sub to a larger company then get hold of the person who deals with subbing.
If its the public you prefer then try the cards inth esupermarkets and leaflets to people who hire out small tools, and builders merchants are a good reference especially if you do a little something for them.
Also ask the local estate agents to put your card or leaflet in with any sales particulars they hand out.
See if you can get some free pr from your local paper it isn't that hard if you find the right person and push the right buttons.
That should be a start.
good luck. |

advertise in the local paper, is he in north yorkshire ?
Or give out a business card, that gives anyone they pass it onto a 10% of their work. Built up a network.
Leaflets through letter boxes of houses when they look like they need modernising, old windows etc.. just been sold... so on.
Speak to local builders, and tell them that if they need an extra plasterer here is my card, or if you have too much work and need to pass some on. |

go into yell.com and that way you can find one local to yourself. Pick about 3 companies/handymen and get them all to come out and give you a quote. Alternatively look up the classified section of any free papers that get pushed through the door or your own local evening paper.
Good luck |

Local papers, especially those that are all want-ads (like a Pennysaver, if you know what that is). Another way is to put your bus. card on bulletin boards at the building supply and paint stores (many have them for this purpose) . Individuals and contractors who might have a plastering job will see it. My brother-in-law gets quite a bit of similar work this way. |

I look in my local paper first. After all its a local plasterer i want who is not going to charge me a bomb in travelling expenses. Also if he is local you can ask people if they have used him.Better somebody on your doorstep, than miles away if something goes wrong. He will make sure he does a good job then.Local ads first, then yellow pages etc. Also not as much competition in local paper as opposed to yellow pages. |

I'd ask the caretaker of our block of flats. Word of mouth is the best way, after that the local paper: ours has a services section. I also pass my local community centre which has window advertisements for such services at reasonable rates. I'd suggest postcards in shop windows and to blitz when he has work in one area as he might pick up more work in the same area. |

Look in any private country club.
The money they charge affords them a lifetime membership |

I get plastered quite often. But I would look in the yellow pages or go on line for home repairs in your area. |

I would ask at my local hardware store. They are always advertising tilers plasterers etc. Yellow pages would be another option. Word of mouth another one. |
