Be honest and genuine don't push too hard for a sale. Try placing an add on Craig's List, also look at Yahoo groups and see if you can contact people in your area to help make recommendations to help them get a new car. |

Get the newest phone book available for your area.
Target a market area by the exchange number.
Start dialing.
If you get an answering machine, leave your name and number. When someone calls back, make your pitch.
If someone answers, introduced your self and ask if they will be buying a new car any time soon.
That is the technique. It will be up to you to be able to be creative enough to dodge the "Do Not Call" listers, the patently irate and the nut cases.
Every 30 calls you are going to get either a prospect or a lead. Every 100 calls your are going to get a close.
Don't ask the other salespeople. They have their own problems.
Do you know where all the car washes are in your market area? I will leave it up to you to formulate your strategy and tactic for that gold mine.

I have a geat idea. I think car registrations are up for public records. See if you can get names and numbers of large truck and SUV owners. With gas prices the way they are, and the economy in the dumps, everyone wants to lower expenses. Those gas guzzlers will be more than happy to part ways with their vehicles. Even if YOU made the banner to attract those kinds of buyers, your sales WILL increase |

I think that you should jack up the prices on display in the car window but sell them for way less.This way when you talk to a potential customer you can convince them that you are giving them a huge discount. Another way is just being friendly. If you are going to be in the business for a long time, make as many friends as you can, and when they need a car, they will come to you. Hope this helps out. |

Be extremely nice! My husband and I are in the process of looking for a car and one salesman at a Ford dealership got an attitude because we didn't want the car he thought would be "perfect" for us...so I looked at him and said so you wanna be a jerk? Well you just lost what would have been a guaranteed sale....because you insist we buy the more expensive SUV and then we left. Be nice! Try not to be super pushy....that is a big thing to alot of people if your going to keep buggin them and pushing they wont buy from you. Good Luck I hope you do great! |
