The thing that interest you most. Whatever you do, just make sure it doesn't feel like work--but more like a hobby. Then it'll look better and you'll be inspired to make better content. If it looks good, and it's intuitive, more people will come and better advertisers will pay.

Your question is actually quite a complex one - even if you didn't intend it to be!
What you need to remember is that you are going to be stuck with this website - whatever it is about - for years if you are going to make decent long-term money. That means you shouldn't choose anything that you are not REALLY passionate about.
Then you need to consider demand. If you can't write about things that people are looking for, you are not going to make it. If people want to know what you can tell them, you will be able to get visitors and so you will be able to make money at it.
But the demand is only half the story. If you like football and there are 15,000 people an hour searching for it there is plenty of demand. BUT if there are already 15 million sites telling them that information already, you will have a really hard time competing in that market.
What you really need to make it with websites is the kind of tools that can give you all the information you need and guide you through the whole process of finding exactly the right niche for you.

Set up a website
Advertise yourself
Bring traffic (people) to your site
Monitor this and constantly improve your site to suite your audiences needs
When you have LOADS of visitors you can start thinking about letting other companies advertise
Problem is, other companies wont advertise if you dont have the people visiting your site to see the advert in the first place...I mean, would you??? lol
There's loads of people out there with the same idea as you; you just need to find that niche market!
