Is it in a strip mall, mall, stand alone? I am going to go with the strip mall, as that seems most likely.
If she is trying to market to anyone and everyone, it will be futile. I personally think people think of yogurt (even frozen) as being more healthy than ice cream. It's also not something where people will travel across town (probably no more than a few miles) to get.
Here are two things I had two of my clients do and it was great for them. In your case, is there a gym near you. A lot of gyms put out the lead boxes, maybe you can put one in your establishment in return they will let you pass out coupons/information (focus on the healthy) to their customers.
Another idea is to canvas local neighborhoods and give out free samples (premake samples and rent a freezer truck for the weekend..it's cheaper than you think). This will build a good rapport with the people you are really trying to attract and they will get to taste how great her product is.
With this idea I had a client that did this with her cupcake bakery a week before opening and she had a line out the door and sold out everyday the first two weeks. It made quite an impression. |

Give out some free samples, that way people can taste the product. It definitely works. A salad place in my mall gave out free salads on the day they opened and hundreds of people showed up. Additionally, if you have the budget, try giving out some logoed promotional items. SInce it's a frozen yogurt place, I would suggest imprinting your logo on a promotional ice cream scoop like this one:

If she in retail area, she could provide discount vouchers to receive regular trade (you work next door to me take 10% off kinda thing). If she gets customers in then repeat business- recommend a friend voucher and get 10% off etc, or discount days/times (e.g. near cinema during quiet times) |

Coupons in the mail or great. Everyone likes thinking they're getting a deal. Have an open house night. They should have baseball caps or something printed up so they can be walking advertisement. If they drive decorate their car with the business logo on the side. Donating product to a local school or hospital and getting newspaper coverage is good too. |

I used to own a cab company and I always done extremely well with a buy 9, get the tenth free. You could do anything you wanted to though (4 for 5, etc.). People always like getting something for free!! |
