In terms of product quality, who is better Tesco or Sainsbury's?

Sainsbury's have the better quality food but they don't always have as wide a range as Tesco's. For non-food items I find that Sainsbury's are usually better value because Tesco tend to stock cheap and crappy items while Sainsbury's stock slightly higher priced but much better quality items (£7.50 for a 512MB MP3 player for example, not bad quality either).

I have always preferred Sainsbury's. I find their quality higher in fruit and veg, their own brands can stand against brand names. In fact their own brand Ceylon tea is unbeatable.
Sainsbury's are more expensive, but the quality is better.
There are more choices in Sainsbury's. I can buy guinea fowl or other game in Sainsbury's but never found in Tesco.
To list the supermarkets in terms of quality, brand name and customer base, I would list it like this.:5 being lowest.
5, Morrison's. A northern supermarket catering to more working class population. They did away with the premium name of Safeway, which was foolish as it was a better brand and more widely known, especially in the south east.
4, Asda. Another northern brand born out of a merger of Asquirths supermarkets and Associated Dairies. Cheap because of it being owned by Walmart. Restricts some premium brands because they do fit customer profile.
3, Tesco. Already mentioned.
2, Sainsbury's. Ditto.
1, Waitrose. Started in London in the 1900s by Waite, Rose and Taylor. Mr Taylor left and it became Waitrose. Taken over by John Lewis in 1937. It caters mainly for middleclass shoppers with the emphasis on quality. It's main competitors are Marks and Spencers and Sainsbury's.
After many years of being based mainly in the south east, they are expanding north into Scotland and the north west.

Duk Dong
Sainsbury's without question.

Well I used to go to Tesco but they stopped selling what I wanted to buy in my weekly shop so I started going to Sainsbury's. I have to travel further but I can gurantee getting everything I want and the staff are more friendly and much more helpful. They seem to care about where they work. The quality of the products in Sainsburys far outweighs those in Tesco. I'm a much happier shopper.

corky
Sainsbury,s (Better staff)
and taste the difference does taste better
and better advertising

Ms Radish
i prefer sainsburys

Puppet Dictator
Sainsbury's is a cut above Tesco's for sure.

This is one of China's Daxing wholesalers. Fraud they simply do not exist and all of the products are very good. Prices are cheap. Their website, I often buy things above. (Product: digital cameras, mobile phones, LCD TVs, laptops or notebook computer, digital camera, a global positioning system, MP4,…… etc.)
Their website is: www.veshopping.com

Well Tescos is definiteley safer as they ensure the toys are all100% led free and the food is organic and they do not use battery hens and have free range eggs. Also they have english pork which is helping cut down animal cruletey.

Sainsburys has freshly baked bread and helthy food but they are more expencive and dont do such a wide range of items as tesco.
