Hi G H,
It will be important for you to follow a proven system so that you will not be suffering from information overload.
I personally feel that we should start simple and focus on doing one thing at a time. Below is the big picture view of the things that I will do:
1) Find a profitable market that I want to base my business in.
2) Find a good affiliate product that I want to promote to the market.
3) I will only start building my website after I have found the market and the product to promote.
4) I will create my own landing page which will be squeeze page with a opt in form. I will start building my list from the first day as it is very important. My subscribers will be redirected to my affiliate link once they have subscribe to join my list.
5) Once my website is live online, I will stay focus on driving traffic to my website. As there are many methods of getting traffic, I will stay focus on just 1 to 3 methods of getting traffic. Be a master in 1 or 3 traffic generation method. You will also want to have your own traffic plan so that you will know the things that you have to do on a daily basis. Stay focus on doing something daily to drive traffic to your website.
6) I will be patient and continue to drive traffic to my landing page. Once the list starts to grow, I will go and find 2 more affiliate products and create new email campaigns in my autoresponder. This will make sure that I am also promoting backend products to my subscribers.
Once you understand the big picture view of the business and you do one step at a time, you will not feel information overload.
