This "crap" as you call it is just a courteous way of letting a customer know that their telephone call is appreciated. How would you feel if you called a company and someone answered the telephone "What the hell do you want?". I would not want to do any business with them. If you find the greeting you stated irritating, I would suggest that you enroll in a common courtesy class and learn something other than to gripe. |

at least it's a short greeting. I used to have to say "It's a wonderful day at ***** this is the cashier speaking how can I help you?" |

Personally, I don't have any problem with it.
I would rather hear a real, live, breathing person say, "Thank you for calling ..."
Instead of hearing an automated voice system saying "Press 1 for . . .; Press 2 for . . ."; If you know your party's extension, you may dial it now."
