Stock Guru | Is $375 too much to pay for 3 months of SEO work for my web business? |
My web based business needs more visitors, so I've searched every company on the web for SEO. So far I've found $375 for 3 months at www.OrangePantsLLC.com and I've found $500 for 6 months at www.SmallSEOGuy.com.
Is it worth spending this much if my business only makes about $500/month??? |

$375 bucks for 3 months.
That price would make me initially wonder about the quality of the service you are going to get.
Real SEOs who can offer you real solutions are swamped for business and probably would cost you about $3000 a month minimum.
Anyone else is going to take you through the 10 step process that you can get from lurking in a form or buying Aaron Walls book at www.seobook.com.
Now the real question is whether the expense is worth the return on your investment.
First ask yourself this question. Can i make more than $500 a month if i had more customers?
If you are a service provider and $500 a month is all you can make or if your niche is so small that is all you can make then there is no point in paying someone a ton of money.
If you could make more money with more visibility and customers than you should hire a good seo.
You will make less per month for a while but SEO is forever. That means as long as you continue to work on the value you get from seo can stay with you for the life of your business and website.
SEO will help you rank higher and bring in more customers. So if you took a little less profit each month for a year but at the end of the year you were making about $2000 a month instead of $500, would that be valuable to you and worth the investment?
But seriously. Steer clear of anything that cheap. It is likely an agency who will not give you any real attention.
You need to be in the top 30 to 40 positions to even compete and just basic seo will not get you to a top 30 position unless you sell something with no competitors.
You could look to spend that money on PPC like MSN Adcenter or Yahoo Search Marketing. Stay away from Adwords as they are overpriced and not for a novice advertiser.
You will end up on top of the search results this way but it is renting space and only lasts as long as you pay.
Real recommendation.. Do $100 a month in MSN and Yahoo PPC and then study some basic SEO factors to do yourself.
When you make $2000 a month find a real seo to take you to $20,000. |

We use Yahoo Search Marketing pay per click. I like it because you put money down, say $100. When the $100 is gone your account shuts off until you put more money on. Google AdWords is another pay per click that we use. I don't like this one as much just because it's not prepaid. I don't like getting bills at the end of the month, though with Google AdWords you can set a daily limit. Good luck with your business! |

It's a waste of money so try this it will only cost your either $6.00 or $20.00 for permanent ongoing trade and you only pay it once:
It’s rarely an instant return on the Internet. You need your website coming up relevant to what people "search for" on the Internet. It takes time to get placement in the right places within the Internet and if you're listed in the right category of searches you stand a better chance of returns. The following is one of the better ways.
For a small charge you can have a “Permanent” website advertisement placed in an index such as this in a choice of around 750 categories to target your business trade.
This will raise your website profile and increase its chances of extra sales because this site is indexed by the search engines placing your site within public searches.
The advantage of a site like this is that you don’t have to update your listing again.
For a permanent ongoing promotion:

seo is about getting higher search engine ranking and popularity and that mean high PR and alexa ranking for some kind of reference. so if you are thinking about getting help from any seo companies make sure they have high PR and alexa ranking first. If they want to be in seo biz get their sites better PR first before selling any seo services.
why not you learn from free audio series first before doing buying and seo services. check out below link for free seo knowledge.

Well, it depends on what your website goals are. 3 months of SEO for $375 is relatively cheap - but it would depend on what you actually get for the $375 and if you feel it's something you can do yourself. |

Before spending a single penny on an SEO service, ask the SEO company a simple question: "Provide me with a search query on Google.com limited to no more than 4 generic words [and not a domain name] which brings forth a single PR [PageRank] website listing [not within a directory] among the top 10 PRs. If they say that's an impossibility, you would be advised to not avail yourself of their paid service and read the following article instead.
The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,
Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and
MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
very large Internet Yellow Pages.
Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
at Google and Yahoo.
Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, "Who's my end user - is he on dialup or
DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
is best for them.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 60 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually up to 41 words to form a complete paragraph which
best describes one's goods and services. It is not merely a list.
And the very last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google's spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.
Here's an example of a very highly-placed website on
Google.com: Begin with the very "generic" search query
"sandwiches downtown los angeles," taking note to not
abbreviate Los Angeles to "LA" and of course, leave
out the parentheses ("). It will bring up some 2.4
million+ search results. Check out where "Nazos.net"
is ranked. It's on the SECOND FRONT [ranked 15]!
Again, Nazos.net's high web presence was achieved by
proper web design and placement of relevant metatags
according to Google's publication guidelines.
Good luck! |
