Depends on what kind of business you do. If you don't know any more than you do, you need help getting started there and the chances are roughly even you'll have trouble before you get started.
A lot of Vietnamese speak English, but most don't. They speak as you might imagine Vietnamese in one dialect or another.

Check the various chamber of commerce sites for VN - AmCham, Indian, and I don't know how many others exist.
I have been in VN for 4 years now. Some people speak English, some speak Russian, and a few speak French. You would probably need a translator / interpreter unless you were lucky.
