Advertising is both good and bad.
It is good if it makes you aware of products and services that you can use and will be helpful. For example, advertising is used to help you become aware that Ninetendo is introducing the new Wii game system. Being a rabid gamer, I find this advertising useful.
It is bad if it irrelevant to your needs and is not helpful. For example, I will not eat McDonalds therefore the advertising is wasted on me. That is ineffecient for McDonalds and for me.
Keep in mind that many charities also use advertising to let people know that they exist and that they perform an important function.
Television shows receive funding from advertisers. Without advertising, there would be no television content or people would have to pay to see content.
I don't think advertising is immoral unless the advertising is an explicit lie. |

Good because it allows you to consume media for free. Imagine paying to listen to the radio or watch prime time TV. Because of advertising, you don't have to. (Unless you want commercial-free, in which case you do have to pay). |

It is 100% very very important. However there are many channels to advertised. It does not necessary means Print Adv. The content is the most important thing in advertising as this will determined if you are advertising for
a) Generating sales (with call for action)
b) Branding and awareness (make your presence felt)
c) Just for info and education
d) Just to let your competitor know you are still alive and etc

Yes,I think advertising is a good thing. Advertising has been around for years in many forms.It lets you know that the product exists,what the product is for and it helps to generate sales for a co. Which keeps people working.It helps to create more jobs. And can generate fresh ideas in others to create something of their own,which again generates more jobs and more work. People that don't like it have generally no self control and must fall for every or anything being advertised. The consumer does have the choice in whether to buy the product or not. |

in the companies perpective it is good, because it is the way to mareket thier product. On the other hand, it might be bad for the viewers for the reason that the values in thwe ads is not good. |

Sometimes they are misleading and sometimes dangerous to your health (cigarette ads). |

It really depends who you ask.
Commercials on TV are good for companies because that's how they get their products seen to the masses, but people watching TV might not enjoy having to watch through them.
A lot of people are annoyed by pop ups and banners and everything in between, but to the advertisers that helps them make money because there's always somebody who will be interested in the advertisement.
If you own your own business you have to advertise, otherwise you won't make any money. |
