I buy and sell on ebay with very nice results. Only deal with reliable sellers that have a high score positive feedback (shows on every item) and watch shipping costs. They do have a buyer protection program along with the optional PayPal system of payment. If any problems, notify ebay immediately for action and resolution.
They are not a scam....like a really big flea market, only on-line. |

Well eBay shouldn't be in question whether or not it is reliable. It is the seller that you should be worried about. Check the seller's feedback profile to make sure they have a good history with previous buyers. If all that looks good, then I'd say go ahead and buy the phone!
I hope this helps! |

EBay is reliable, but you have to check to see if the seller is reliable. EBay has set up a rating system for sellers. You can read what people have said about the seller who have bought from him/her in the past. Also, try using pay pal. It's more secure than just sending someone a check. |

Millions of people use ebay every day, it's very reliable. |

yeah it works like a dream.. just check people's feedback and make sure to read the entire listing...
just bid how much you want to pay (before shipping) and the computer will bid up up to that amount on your behalf |

Look at the user. see how many positive/negative feedbacks they have. Generally the people with more than 95% positive feedbacks are reliable. As you are buying a phone, which i am assuming is quite expensive i would make sure they have feed back from more than 100 people
Hope that helps :) |

Best advice, check the feedback of the seller. If they a 100% and have sold many items, they are legit. If not, you're taking a risk. I have done many transactions on ebay with 100% feedback sellers only and have never had a problem. In fact, the items I have purchased have surpassed my expectations. Good luck! |

Ebay is reliable so much that if you get ripped off somehow they will refund your money. My husband and I bought a blackberry which turned out to be stolen. They didn't refund 100% off the money but they did refund almost all of it. We are Ebay aholics!!! |

It's awesome. Make sure whomever you're dealing with has a high feedback rating and score and you should be fine. Happy hunting, friend! |

No it's usually not a scam, at least when you're buying. It's selling that you have to worry about-- people offer you much more money than you asked for, then send you a fake PayPal message and BAM! you're scammed. If you're still concerned, find out more info about the company if it's a company that's selling it. Each seller will also have a reliability ranking under their name so you know if other people have been scammed by them before or if they are good, reliable sellers. Overall, you can find great, cheap phones on eBay-- go for it! |

No ebay is not a scam...well most of the time it isn't. Ebay provides an environment for individual sellers to sell their goods online. SO you aren't buying from ebay. You are buying from a person. Its best to make sure you are buying from someone reliable..someone who has lots of positive ratings. They are running a business on Ebay and can't afford to take the chance to tip someone off. Those guys are typically ok. You can see any sellers rating when you are buying. |

yes its very reliable plus if you dont trust ebay you always have like a n area where you can check the ratings of the seller to see others opinions on the person according to their last purchase from him |

I never purchased anything myself, but did have an account with them as as SELLER. It didn't do that well for me unfortunately. But it wasn't as much Ebay's fault, as it was at least three CROOKED buyers who were apparently interested in keeping the merchandise and not paying for it, lying about it and saying it had broken in the mail.
That could not have happened ever because of I was always extra careful when wrapping and packing.
While dealing with them it is always best to use PayPal, and NEVER EVER send in any checks, money orders, cashiers checks before having the product. If you're going to pay ahead make sure you have a credit card since it will be your PROOF. Or use PAYPAL. |

You need to check out the sellers feedback rating.
I have bought phones off eBay and have never been scammed yet.
eBay isn't a scam - but there is scammers on there, you will become more aware of them when you put an expensive item on eBay, a car for example.
eBay works by bidding, or buying items now, oh and classified ads in cars, caravans etc.
You then have a variety of ways to pay the seller, the main way is by Paypal which you will need to sign up for. Some sellers allow all different types of payment, some prefer to have postal order, cheque or some even like to have cash when you pick the item up.
Check the item description very carefully, it even helps if it is your first time to print off the listing and highlight things that 1) interest you and in a different colour 2) highlight anything you are un sure of.
A genuine seller won't mind a potential buyer asking questions, and would be more than willing to help you.
If you are still in two minds, it is best to buy from a shop if you are worried about scams. |

I've never had a problem with Ebay. They are very reliable. All you have to do is create a free account, look up the item you are interested in, and then bid on that item. Once you bid, you cannot retract the bid and are obligated to buy the item if you win the auction. There are buy it now items sometimes where you can just buy the item as opposed to bidding on the item. Basically you just have to out bid other people to win the item. It's really easy and if you do something wrong, the system will stop you. Good luck, and be careful. Ebay can be addictive. |

eBay is but some sellers are not, look for a seller in this country, with 100% feedback and use paypal to pay for goods, this way you will have some come back if you are let down by the seller. Always be polite if asking a seller a question and always leave feedback as the seller will do this for you and you will be seen as a reliable buyer, and sellers will be more willing to deal with you. Check out what you want to buy carefully as some goods are not what you may think you are buying. I have dealt with them for 4 years and bought many things, some from overseas and only had 2 problems. Before you commit to buy check out the postage costs as you may be able to get the goods locally at the same combined total price and if local you can see before you buy. Hope this helps you out, remember if you have any doubts DONT BUY FROM THE SELLER! |

I've used eBay for a couple of years, and it does work and is very reliable and safe. I'd say go for it.
In my experience, eBay is like one giant cyber clearing house for all kinds of items, from current to hard to find, unique things. Sellers open accounts and post items for sale. Buyers look for items, bid on what they like and then pay (via credit card or PayPal, all secure). Then the seller (not eBay) sends the item directly to you. You can rate the seller and communicate with them if you need to.
I'd suggest not bidding on items to start, but search for what you need and look for results that have the Buy It Now graphic with them. This way you know you'll get what you want at the price you see.
Using the auctions can be frustrating as you have to sit by your computer and watch the time and the bid amounts. Also, some buyers enter a maximum bid amount, so you'll keep loosing until you top that amount. The trouble is, there's no way to know what that max amount is, so you'll have to keep submitting bids until eBay says you're the highest bidder. What's happened to me is that I've gotten outbid and didn't know it till it's too late since I wasn't at the computer 24/7.
Hope this helps,

It depends like most online sites. The one thing you must remember is you are buying from individuals and there are some who even though they have got great feedback are not what they seem. It is easy to get good feedback, all the dodgy sellers need to do is get their mates to post stuff on the sellers site and it now looks as if the seller is a honest genuine person but nothing could be further from the truth. I think Amazon are a lot safer to use than ebay personally but each to their own. Always be careful when buying from ebay as I know someone who bought a "working phone" but it didnt work and when he contacted the seller she said that the money would get refunded into his bank that week which didn`t happen. 5 weeks later after several emails the seller said that she didn`t state whether the phone was working or not when she put it up for sale but luckily enough the buyer kept the original page and also some of her earlier emails which she state it was working, he eventually got his money back but only because he had the brains to keep all the dialogue they had between them. Be wary when buying online from anyone. |

it depends who you buy from, personally i dont buy electrical things off ebay, but if the sellers feedback if at least 95% positive, i would buy from them (but read some feedback to make sure, i always read all the negatives to see what was wrong, if it was a falt that the seller wouldnt sort out, i wouldnt buy)
i hope this has helped! |

We use e-Bay all the time, and have purchased and sold phones there. A tip: check the seller's rating and feedback before bidding to make sure they look reputable and trustworthy. Also, watch the shipping and handling. Some sellers opt for a low price sale, but charge astronomical shipping - $20 for a 2 lb item? That's just silly. But, if you are getting a $200 phone for $15. . .you are still way ahead!
Good luck with your e-Bay experience. Remember to be a good buyer and only bid if you are ready to commit to purchasing. Read the description thoroughly before bidding so you know exactly what to expect. |

NO WAY. i mean, if you buy a wii, they may just send you the box. at the risk of getting ripped off, i would go with amazon. i personally think no online store are realiable, only if the stuff is sold by a store with an account there.
ps...it's like, impossible to delete your account. |

i have personally never had a problem with it before.
however, there ARE people out there who ARE scamming people and will sell you a faulty phone.
ebay cannot be held responsible for that.
i would personally just find a phone in the local newspaper classifieds or from a store.
ebay isn't worth wasting your money on something like THAT if you're not 100000% sure you're getting what you want. (you can't test it out before you buy it, right?)
good luck!! |
