and rake in loads of cash
remember people are using popup blockers like crazy

Do not create pop-unders for any reason...not only do search engines frown upon them visitors see this as spam and annoying and it will not likely produce any results, for the money invested in them...it is a cheap method, and will not bring visitors to your site...we usually click that red X box in the corner screen and say "urgh!" to ourselves...
A safer bet? Try using ethical methods, like pay-per-click (PPC) or natural search engine optimization (SEO) plans.
It is very important to build trust in your website visitors, since most will never get a chance to meet with you in person...they must see your trust and credibility throughout your website, and pop-unders is not a good way of building that trust.

I agree with all thats said, its just not worth it, traffic is poor quality and people just dont like pop up windows. And they are often blocked anyway so no. And certainly dont pay for it. |

As far as I know, search engines don't care if you're using pop under windows to advertise.
However, as another answerer noted, the traffic isn't worth it. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're faking the traffic (even though that's entirely possible for any programmer of reasonable skill), but the traffic simply doesn't convert, in my experience.
There are enough other, free ways, of getting real people to your site that you don't need to pay for useless traffic. |

The problem with this traffic is that you will get the hits, but the visitors will not be there. This is considered ghost traffic and will do nothing but burn bandwidth.
Also, 95% of computer users have pop up blockers that block pop ups and pop unders.
Try using Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing for immediate traffic. Work on organic seo to benefit from the free traffic search engines can bring you.
