Is it worth it to start a Adult web-site ?

I have always been interested in starting my own adult web-site, but have always been told nightmare stories and how much investment money there is needed to start something like this. I have done a little bit of research but not come up with anything solid a far as advice and what the general public would like to see.

Adult websites is one of the most competitive industries to get into. It's also one of the hardest to market in.

If you're just getting started I would start off in another industry and work my way up to the adult industry.

I have 11 websites. Majority of which are profitable, except for the adult site. Not worth the time, unless they are all your videos which you filmed and you are charging money for membership. My site is an affiliate site, meaning, its just like most free sites out there, people can watch clips of movies but if they want the full versions they have to join sites I refer them to. I get paid a commission for referring. Most people do not sign up for the memberships so its a waste of time. Get better ideas on how to make money from sites like that at keafy.com. Theres alot of good info on there to make money online from sites.
