paul r | Is it worth paying for traffic to my website ? ? |
Is it worth paying to get traffic to your website ? I see that there are services that can send lots of traffic your way, for a small fee. Is this worth it ? This is relating to my current site ill be making live next week, but wanted to ask this. Ive made sites before that Ive optimised quite well, and made them in the top 5 results for certain keywords in google, so wondering wether I should just go that normal route. Or would it really be worth spending a few £/$ to get initial traffic ? |

If you are talking about traffic exchange or proxy site, then it wouldnt worth it because this kind of traffic not bring you benefit.
SEO traffic is still the best But if your website is shopping/affiliate related website, you might consider on PPC advertising. |

Depends on your site, it's purpose and what you want the result of the traffic to be for.
Personally, if its retail, I'd go PPC on Adwords - it's the best immediate traffic source I have ever used myself. I am assuming retail here of course.
- And - what I would add is, if it is retail, then definitely pay for PPC ads... they do work, but just be very very cautious initially if you have not done this before. a very few main keywords at a time, tweak/analyse, then add to this - within a couple of months you get to grips with this - but keep your initial budget low, and read the tips on creating good campaigns... but don't take their advice on budget of course.
I won't pay for traffic in other methods generally myself, and I would never ever use a third party company for my adwords campaigns after a total rip-off situation where I came unstuck with a big bill that i had to pay in the end - but totally resented paying.
If your site is not selling something then just optimise it yourself - you seem to know what your doing, Just keep doing that.
Good luck. |

It depends who you are paying and what they are offering.
The best way to get traffic is to pay for advertising on one of the big search engines where you pay a tiny sum per click, though if you wish to appear for very competitive keywords like, for instance, 'ipod' you may have to pay a bit more for each click. This is often referred to as PPC, or pay-per-click.
Most services offering to send you lots of traffic for very little money can deliver results, but not usually the results you are after. They rely on advertisers getting suckered in with guarantees of thousands of clicks for very little money. This traffic is usually pretty worthless as they get the traffic by paying other gullible people or people in developing countries, to click on supplied links for virtually nothing, often as low as 0.05 cents, which is often very similair to what you would be paying them. They make the money as many people will register with one of these PTC or pay to click sites and give up after a few days when they realise they have been clicking for hours and barely earned enough for a coffee. |

Buying traffic is not a really good idea. Most of these sites also advertise Pay-per-click programs and the only people "seeing" your web site would be people who are just clicking through for money as fast as they're able. They are really not looking at your web site.
You can get traffic by trying a free traffic exchange service like TrafficSwarm at http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?56268...
or WebCentreSurf at http://webcentresurf.com/?27972
Try StumbleUpon at http://www.stumbleupon.com and add your site to your favorites.
You can try article marketing at an article submission service like http://www.ezinearticles.com and link back to your website in the resource box for your articles.
You can also comment on popular blogs like John Chow's or Joel Comm's that allow linkbacks to your URL. Do a Yahoo Search.
Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the scree |
