You can get your home phone number listed on the national "Do Not Call" registry. Unfortunately, cell phones and business lines are fair game for telemarketers and there is nothing you can do to prevent those calls. You can also ask them to take you off their call list when they call. There are penalties you could be entitled to for continued calls from a particular source, but they're way to intricate to get into. (Google... errr, Yahoo search it - shouldn't be hard to find). Also, the more store credit applications, magazine subscriptions, and internet 'clubs' you join using an application that asks for your phone number will increase the number of lists your name gets added to.
Or, you can do what my dad does, when they call - tell them you're busy at the second but very interested, and to hold on while you finish up - and then leave them hanging. They'll usually hang up after a few minutes (which is that many less calls to other people). After a few times of doing that, the telemarketers will generally take you off of their call list. |

Have them call me!
I pitch them back with my MLM program and they are mostly losers on a minimum wage job so they make pretty good candidates. |

While I can't stop them, I tell them simply that I never buy anything from a telemarketer, and then I hang up.
The calls have gotten fewer. |

I don't know, probably not, but my daughter used to get them pretty good, those people have a quota and a required number of calls to make everyday, she would just bs to them about where they were from and their kids and their dogs and all kinds of stuff (anything except what they were calling for) and boy did she screw up some quotas, eventually they were telling her THEY had to go! It was kind of funny. |

Put your number on the non callers list. If they still call threaten to sue them because you are on the non-callers list and they have no right to be calling you. |
