I saw an advert on television for a company called dogs trust. Basically they let you sponsor a dog for a monthly fee. And your sponsor helps campaign on dog-welfare related issues to ensure a safe and happy future for our four-legged friends.
In the advert it is said that your sponsored dog will write to you every week. Erm there is one problem here........DOGS cannot write!!
This isn't a charity, its a joke. Forget the £1 a month here and donate your £1 to something serious like cancer research!!! |

This charity used to be called the National Canine Defence League - more people may recognise that name. I agree that animal charities wouldn't be first on my list if I won the lottery, but each to his own. |

no its not a joke, they are just trying to give somethig back to show they appreciate you, the dog you sponser they keep you updated as to how the dog is and if it is re homed, i think its a brilliant idea, just like when you sponser money for charity you are giving a badge thing!!! |

i think, in my opinion, they just use the dogs in the advert but ofcourse the company that adverts for the dogs' welfare or its organization will be the one to write you. in case you need to know where your donation goes |

why donate money to cancer research? every revolutionary medicine theyve discovered they've patented and made millions, Its only a good deal if you're on private health care, the average man doesnt see the benefits of donations in his lifetime.
I'd much rather have some crappy excuse of a letter - probably written by some middle aged avon woman, just out of curiousty, if anything it'd atleast entertain me for a few moments.

NO, it's not a joke!! I agree!! Welcome to people who don't know what to do with their money!! I love dogs, and have 2 of my own. But it's not that hard of a decision if I have to choose between donating to Cancer research or helping a poor child to helping a dog? Of course I will choose the research and/or the poor child. I think the pet thing is a little over-rated!!! I mean last year it was a $26 billion dollar industry in the United States alone! Can't you people use that money a little wiser. It's OK to spoil your pooch, but once again, overrated!!! I love the people who treat their pets better than their kids!!! Those are my favorite type of people!!! AMAZING! |
