Yes, it is effective, as it plays blatantly on mimicry,
herd instinct (*) and peer pressure, a very common
trait of human beings, coming from the primal brain
(herds were a protection against predators).
The idea is "why should I take the risk to be an
unpopular dissenter, teeth-wise and smile-wise?".
(*) No wonder there is the "shepherd" word in the

Honestly, no. This pic is B&W, so even if that guys teeth were yellow, it wouldn't be noticable if he smiled. If the pic was in color and the guy was smiling, and this shot was alittle more closer, it would be a good ad. |

The message is...If you use crest, you will be proud to show your smile.
The message is there, but I don't think it would be considered anything but a tiny witicism, and would not induce sales, or even remembrance of the product. |
