It depends on their reasons for buying it. In some places, the water doesn't taste very good. Also, where I live (Southern New Mexico) the climate is hot and dry much of the year, so it's easier to buy a bottled of chilled water than to carry one around from home and try to keep it chilled. |

There are some places where the water from fountains, etc is awful and you have no choice ... (ugh) |

If you'd ever tasted the tap water here in West Texas, you wouldn't think it was so pathetic. The type of water you have depends heavily on the rock formation in which the water sits. Water in the midwest tends to be very soft because of, believe it or not, a huge volcanic eruption many millions of years ago. But here, the water is very hard. It actually kills hot water heaters within a couple of years unless you soften it. |

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you buy water once though, then just use it to fill it up from a water fountain or something, but come on...to buy water every single stinkin' time...plain stupid! |

to some. however, for me i've been doing it for 10 years. my reasons for this is, in oakland CA the water there has high concentrations of chlorine. now that we live in another city, we still carry on tradition. it doesnt bother me, nor does it hurt the wallet. |

I usually buy a bottle of Aquafina, and then fill it up until I can't clean it anymore (usually a week or so)...I take some white-out and change the name to "Tapafina"! |

Not necessarily .. 2 years ago the tap water in my area was linked to more than 200 miscarriages, this is a known fact not a theory it was proven by the city. Obviously you need to take it on a case by case situation. If your county has bad water then I say buy bottle water, there are a few rebutable brands out there. If your tap water has no problems then yes it silly to buy bottled water. |

no , it's not stupid. some places have hard water in the area they liv. what i mean is that it carries to many minerals, causing the water to be hard. some people use water softners to reduce those minerals.thats why you see spots in your bathroom when you take a shower in your bathtub. aND PLUS, When the water has to many minerals it taste like metal. |
