I am in advertising and have been asked to design an ad for a septic servicing company that is directed towards women... strange I know. Personally, I know I am drawn to look at brighter colors in a simple design that gets to the point. But do you have any other suggestions of something that might make you stop and look at an ad that will still relate to septic services????

Forgot to add: they have already provided the photo of the truck and all information they want... so I just have to figure out the "visuals" of the ad to make it eye catching to a housewife. |

I took your question very seriously and I Googled "septic service" and looked at various websites. I can tell you what made me click off the page right away -- men sitting in septic tanks, rows of port-a-potties, hoses going into holes, pictures of trucks with tanks that I know I don't want to be near... you get the idea?
The websites that didn't gross me out and/or make me click off of quickly had cheerful company logos and lists of services. The ad doesn't have to be hokey or feminine, but I don't need to see big sewer trucks or pipes, I just want to know what the services provided are.
Here's a website from a woman owned septic service that is to the point and has a nice logo. It's not particularly feminine, but I would probably call this company if I needed septic services and lived in that area. http://www.sunshineseptic.com/ . I think some bright colors (like you said and I agree) would help this website even more.
Don't know if that will help you draw up an ad or not, but I hope I helped in some way. Good luck to you, an ad for a septic service geared towards women is a challenge indeed! I'm sure you'll come out smelling like roses though. ;o) |

Any ad that has a picture with bright colors, the name of the company and the phone number needs to be in bold and be a big size, also I would suggest something that says fast and dependable anytime ( only add that last part if your company can do it) |

Ya innapropriate or not...the only things that are going to make me pay attention to a septic ad...is one of these two things....
#1 A super hot guy, not trying to be suductive or anything...Just something nice to look at when he's selling me the poop service...
#2 A celebritant up to her ankles in poo in need of assistance.
I really would prefer to see the former...but there would be a measure of satisfaction in the latter. |
