Im 15 and at my high school we have to independently raise money for our Kenya link. I only have around $20 to do it with. I was thinking of making some valentine cupcakes, with love hearts on top, and pink icing etc, but 24 cupcakes would cost around $4, and selling them at 40cents each wouldn't get me $10, and I'm looking for a bit more than that. A couple of friends can help, but that's all.. |

How about a love cupcake delivery service - charge $3 a cupcake and advertise in the school and to the parents.
You deliver them to the kid in person and say who it's from. EVERYONE wants a love cupcake and it makes school fun that day.

Umm you can also help people around there yard, umm, sell your cupcakes for at least 50cents, or do like the oter person said about the aluminum cans and go sale them, u get some $$ not going to say alot, but somthing is somthing.. |

There are TONS of things you can do! A carwash, rake leaves, walk dogs, clean houses. I'm not sure what area of the country you are in .. but if it is really cold, shovel sidewalks and/or driveways. Sell hot chocolate. Babysit. Depending on how creative you or someone in your group is (your couple of friends who are willing to help) .. advertise around school that you can write love poems and sell them to the guys to give to their girlfriends. Print them out on the computer and then put them in frames that you get at the dollar store. The possibilities are ENDLESS! Good luck to you. I know you'll do great! (You could even do singing telegrams!) |

We raised money to go to florida for a cnference at my school.
We had a bake sale....but charged $1 for everything....
We bought candy bars in bulk at Sams Club or Costo and sold them for $1 each..
let people know that you are selling them for $1 because you need to raise money for a good cause...let people know what the cause is....
it worked for us and we had 3 of us go to florida at a cost of $3000 each.

You could use your talent. You can go to somewhere like Borders with your friends, and do a little dance or sing some songs about Valentine's Day. Announce the name of your group after you finish a round of songs, and what you're raising money for. Leave a blanket or a box in front of you for donations. I saw this during Christmas time at Borders, and those guys who were singing Christmas songs earned a ton of money. Good luck! |

I remember that when I was in elementary school we had a jump rope-a-thon, and that won't really cost much (if anything) since your school gym probably has jump-ropes already.
You and your friends could solicit donations from family, relatives, parent's colleagues, etc to sponsor the jumpers for a certain amount of money, or a certain amount of money for a certain number of jumps, etc.
I don't remember exactly how we did it (this was 20 years ago or so, after all) but a jump rope-a-thon, is cheaper and healthier for everyone rather than a bake sale selling cupcakes and other high calorie, sugar laden foods, which just adds to the obesity problems in this country.
Especially when most people can do with more exercise, a jump-rope-a-thon, is a cheaper, and healthier alternative for a fundraiser |
