Let me try changing the question to illustrate how vague it is: "Can someone please tell me where I should lease space for my office?" Without knowing your requirements, nobody could answer; where are your employees? where are your customers? do you need parking? handicap access? how much space? will you need a loading dock? do you need an outside entrance, or access through a hallway? separate or shared restrooms? a kitchen area? conference room availability? janitorial services? air conditioning? warehouse space? reception area? night access? security staff? alarm? network cabling? T1 availability? retail space? zoning?
"Web hosting" generally refers to the provision of space on a computer, and some related services (such as email, FTP, and ASP or PHP functionality, etc.).
Who will be developing the web site? What functionality will be required? How will the site be maintained?
If you want to create an e-commerce site that can display your products, maintain inventory data, and process consumer orders (including credit card processing), then most of the recommended services (above) won't work. If you want the ability to create a site by filling in web forms and selecting a template (e.g. a "brochure" web site), some of these will work. If you're going to write your own programming code using ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, or another language, you'll need a service that supports that requirement. |

Depends on what you want done on your hosting account. If you need to install a specific application, then you would need to find a host that can support and install that application for you.
But for office productivity purposes, you might want to review office.live.com of microsoft, they offer free and paid hosting accounts that lets you use some of their productivity tools like project management, calendar, expense tracking etc.
If you just need a simple system to sell your stuff online, you can look for a host that has oscommerce support as well as other shopping carts and biling software that you can install for free.
There's a tendency for people to compare price then feature then service. You should look at service, features then price. because some host can install some stuff you need that they do not openly offer to the public. Try to contact them to find out. This is also a good way to guage how well they know their products and how fast the respond to your problems |
