This is a question to professional marketers:
Why, oh why do you guys make the advertisements so much louder than the television show? (and please don't try to tell us that you don't, because you do).
Do you not realise that doing this makes your potential audience TURN DOWN the sound (and hence we don't receive your message at all)?
Please explain the rationale

I Hate Loud Adverts Too Darl. Most Of The Time I Hit The Mute Button Or Channel Hop Till They Are Over! If The Sky Diving Honda Ad Comes On I Always Switch Over, They Put So Much Hype Out Before Running It Live For The First Showing That I Decided I Never Want To See The Actual Ad!

louder is bad enough, but also noisier ,people SCREAMING their wares, i automatically mute ALL ads and often switch channels . |

Tell me about it! My friend advertises her Antique store, and she told me in the ad packages you can pay a bit more to have them loudly play your ad. It started in the eighties, and I hate that.
