People ask me why i choose this name and i cannot give any answer because at the time i choose it only from the name of one of my pet(a savana monitor) Now people know me with this name nad im stuck with it but i would like to have someting intelligent to says about it. Well... you can go with the honest approach, make it sort of personal and homey, make your pet sort your mascot and include him/her in ads, company newsletter etc. Seriously, it puts a personal touch on things.
Or, you could make up some bogus backstory about history and myth and legend yin and yang and risk and opportunity and sound like the boring blather from a big company.
I guess you know where I stand... there's enough fiction in marketing already, I think a little genuine truth and personality goes a long way.

Draco, as you might know, is the Latin word for Dragon. There is a constellation called Draco the Dragon. It circles around the North Pole and you can read about it here:

Add some schmalz about the north star being a guide for uncharted waters and that is what your company is seeking to do. Your company is like a beacon due to its R&D capabilities. I dunno, just add fluff. |

dragons are strong and undying, they are magical and very wise. in some cultures the dragon is a guide to enlightenment and purity. here is an idea.
list the qualities of your company like always get the job done or very knowledgeable in current tech stuff then list quality's of the dragon compare the two lists find the similar qualities and there you go there is the foundation to your companies name

i agree with scott. naming your company by the name of your pet is not something to be shamed of. do you know the meaning of nike? Adidas? coca cola?/ does these biggest brands in the world have a meaning to their names??
There are so many lies in the field of marketing these days so that ppl go crazy with the ideas the marketing ppl come up with. all these lies, blunders lead you where???? actually speacking the truth is far more better than anything. you may not believe this and tend to go with the ride... but at the end of the day your hreat knows that you haven't been honest to your customers, the world... so get away with bullshit.. |
