The best advertising are search engines: Try to optimize your website for 2-3 keywords and do some SEO (search engine optimization). If your done with this, start to collect links pointing to your website, so your site get even better ranked.
You can write and submit articles to article directories with a link at the bottom pointing to your page. You just have to provide some useful information, and the readers will click through your site. So you get traffic AND quality links to your site, which increase your ranking again.
You can post comment to related forums, blogs, social bookmarking, etc.
You can easily create some 2-3 minutes long videos and submit them to video portals.
The easiest way to get targeted traffic is to use pay-per-click advertising, but it can be pretty expensive. Therefore, I prefer article marketing. |

There are many things you can do. I would first have your website optimized for a few your specific keywords. If you are on a budget write some press releases on your website (500 words) and use keywords in your title and your main body text and submit the press releases through some of the free pr distribution websites. Find a few message boards and forums and start posting comments with your website url as your name. you want to make sure you add something beneficial to the thread or you will get booted for spamming by the moderator.

If you are using free webspace, it pretty much covers things like submitting to directories and participating in blogs and such to get link popularity to your site. There are other great tips if you need to get your own domain and webspace. Hope this helps. |

It sounds like you're looking for traffic from other sources than online and search engines. Have you considered running advertisements in local or national newspapers or targeted trade publications/magazines?
You can also distribute flyers with your Web site address and other information at events or through the mail. Any direct marketing would help, such as an e-mail marketing campaign, or post flyers and signs at your local laundromat and grocery store.
A solid press release campaign could also have information about your company (such as your Web site) or about one of its products distributed to a mass audience through local and national media outlets.
