I think if you open on Sunday after church you will find that you get a continual flow. People love to eat after practicing safe sects. I would also consider opening your restaurant for use by the local prison. It sounds like you have what it takes to appeal to the Penile system. You might also play around with the idea of featuring local talent. A stand up comic perhaps? I have a feeling that a cunning linguist would go over great! I hope some of these suggestions help you, Jack. You late? Nahhhh... there's still time for change! Good luck!
Can I use the same answer you gave 10 point to 5 months ago... |

Broaden your egg menu! Seamen LOVE eggs!
Maybe you will get a stroke of luck and things will come around:) |

For a restaurant near a naval base, I suggest putting peanut butter and belly sandwiches on the menu. |

Make it more appealing to locals. Approach local businesses with a list of lunch specials. When you do this, have someone young and dressed trendy deliver an appealing plate of appetizers (or whatever your specialty is) along with some coupons and your menu. You may also try going to area hospitals, clinics, etc. Where is the big business in your area? Look at your client base, and expand on that. Are there Naval personnel at the base all the time? Deliver to them! Good luck. |

Military people come and go for the most part. You have to keep a constant stream of advertising. If you can offer special benefits to make life easier on them, even better. It depends on your business. You may offer free cab rides, free delivery, special happy hour deals, etc. If the Seamen are coming off the boat, they will probably have plenty of money and no transportation.
If you do a good alcohol business, maybe do a party bus. Again, it depends on your business.
There will be a completely different market with the residents in your town. But if your town is like the military town where my brother's restaurant is, then all the townsfolks are having having the same problem and it will be hard to get much business out of the locals.
Another thing to try is to pay cab drivers to hand out coupons. Let the cabby write his ## on the coupon and give the cabby a kickback.

You need to analyze what other populations are near your restaurant. For example, are there developments, apartment complexes, etc. in the same area. If so, you need to assess their habits and needs and advertise accordingly. Or, is there some attraction near your business that would attract people to travel, e.g. near the water, or nice view. Or, yu can offer a discount to military personnel. This question cannot be answered easily w/o much more information. |
