I would suggest a name that translates easily into Spanish. I used to run a bar on the coast and now run one inland. My first bar was called the Wishing Well ( el Pozo ). The bar I have now is called the Black Horse (el Caballo *****). Look at your market, do you want to attract the Brits, Spanish or both. Or is it going to be international quisiene. Look at the times you are going to be open, day bar, late night etc. When I was on the coast it was practically impossible for bar staff to get something to eat once their shift had finnished, the same applied to bar owners. I have a wealth of experience of running bars in Spain, if you need any advice email me, I can think of many names for a bar but its got to relate to you and your business. Also at this time of year it is much quietier, so you have to make people WANT to come to your bar before others. Another thing to consider, has the bar already got a name, people are creatures of habit and tend to go where they know, changing the name might put people off, also the names of bars are often used as landmarks.
Good luck in your new venture, If you are on the Costa del Sol we will come for a meal and support you |
