Need advice on formating text for newspaper advertisement, what do I do?
Newspapers will happily provide a selection of designs/layouts for your advertisement. Local weekly and most daily newspapers will make no charge for this.
You can get a rate card which gives you the price of the advertising space, usually £X per column cm. Decide on the space you want to buy and the paper will give you a rough idea of how many words you can fit into that space.
If you are dealing with a weekly local paper you can often do a deal, saying that you plan to repeat the advert if they can offer you say 20% off.

What kind of advertisment? What kind of advice? You're rather vague. How can you expect to get a meaningful answer?

you need to know the specific measurements of the ad first so you can determine font point.....then i would just fill in the blank....KEEP IT BRIEF!....crowded ads look nasty!.....but i do agree u are a tad vague...with more info i could help more!...good luck

Hi,
I cannot go into detail here. But there are several articles online that will give you advice.
Free of charge obviously. One of the articles and many more at:

Your newspaper sales rep should be able to tell you what format they need it in. Most newspapers accept either PDF, Publisher or high quality JPEG.
