A few thoughts. Many things to be in business. To many to go into here. If you have been in business a month, 20 a day isn't bad, if you've been in business a year, not to good.
Have you tried a web site as well?
Population of area, (maybe 20 a day is good - if in a small town) location also is important. You mention "house", is the business in your home? if so, that's a drawback as people don't like going into a strangers home. We all know, word of mouth is the best advertisement.
Are you from a large metro area, are you swallowed up by the competitions ads in phone book? Whats you adverting budget. Are the 3 ads a week, run in the same place.......might try another source, Do you watch the same channel for news every day? do you only read one paper? What do you do with mail-outs, when you receive them? (most trash them without looking at them)

try this advertise on the back of reciepts at KROGERS
I am going to tell you why that type of customer is better than you think.....
I call it the Walmart vs Kroger syndrome
because Cheap skates shop at walmart and people who are quality conscious go to Krogers
that ad will get in the hands of EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER that walks in that store so I would advertose at the nearest one and offer a 15% discount on the ad
