.ORG or . COM which is best for a business?
I recently set up a company and I have purchased two domain names for the website but I cant seem to decide which is most suitable, .org or .com? I would prefer .com but the problem is I would need to add LTD to the end of the .com as someone else already has the main one used.
the . com one would be bioenergysolutionsLTD.com or the .org would be bioenergysolutions.org.
Is it ok for a business to use dot org or is it mainly for charities use??
if your running a worldwide business... then .com.... if your uk.. its simply .co.uk
you can get .business...
lots of businesses use . org
we have .com and . co.uk
but we dont expect it to get us work.. we still have to tout for work, but find it simple for our potential clients to check out what we do by reffering them to our website...
find a suitable way to advertise your business in a cheap way by just mentioning your site... then let your site do the rest...

Anyone can use either .com or .org. The only top-level domain (.org,.com,.net,etc.) that are restricted are like .ed and .gov.
Personally, I think .com is better because it has come to pretty much be the understood suffix. Most people automatically think .com so I would try to stick to a .com website. If anything, you could get both and link the 2 together. It's only like $8/year to own the site.

i think you should use com

More than likely if you choose to use the .org people will inadvertently type in the .com which will mean you will lose customers.
I would try a slightly different twist on the name. We're talking about $8.99 for a new name which can prevent many lost dollars from lost customers.

One thing to keep in mind is .com is default for most browsers unless you press a specific key sequence. So when anyone enters just your name, they won't find you unless you use a .com address.
